Introduction
atopile is a code-native electronics design platform that replaces drawing with a declarative language. It ships a language, compiler and toolchain: compose systems from modules and interfaces, capture intent with units, tolerances and assertions, then let the compiler solve constraints, pick discrete parts parametrically and run design checks before handing layout to KiCad. Build from a VS Code / Cursor extension or the CLI, or work in the browser workspace. Design checks run locally or in CI, and outputs cover BOM plus fabrication and assembly data. It is released under the MIT licence.

Features
- Declarative .ato language describes boards as code instead of drawing them
- Equations with units, tolerances and assertions capture design intent
- Compiler solves constraints, picks discrete parts parametrically and runs design checks
- Reusable modules and interfaces instead of starting from scratch each time
- Works natively with KiCad, which handles the layout stage
- VS Code / Cursor extension and CLI, plus a browser workspace
- Design checks can run locally or in CI
- Exports BOM plus fabrication and assembly data
- MIT licensed, with a package registry for community modules
