Introduction

DxDesigner is a professional schematic capture and circuit design tool developed by PADS (later acquired by Siemens), one of the core components of the PADS electronic design solution. The tool provides complete schematic design functions, supporting hierarchical schematic design, real-time design rule checking, netlist generation and verification, as well as seamless integration with other PADS tools. Core features include: intelligent schematic capture, hierarchical design support, real-time electrical rule checking (ERC), generation of standard netlist formats (PCB Editor, OrCAD, etc.), support for BOM automatic generation, schematic-to-PCB bidirectional synchronization, and circuit simulation interfaces. DxDesigner was widely used in circuit design for industrial control, communication equipment, and consumer electronics fields. The tool is currently discontinued, with its technology and user base inherited by the Siemens Xpedition platform, and some features integrated into Xpedition and PADS Pro products.
