Introduction

FREE-PCB is a free, open-source PCB layout editor for Microsoft Windows, released under the GNU General Public License. It supports 1-16 copper layers with a maximum board size of 60x60 inches, with no pin or library limits. It supports import/export of PADS-PCB netlists, DXF mechanical format and Pcad ASCII format, outputting Extended Gerber (RS274X) and Excellon drill files. Built-in design rule check (DRC) and auto-save features, supports imperial/metric unit switching. The original version is discontinued, but its fork FreePCB-2 is still actively developed, introducing function key interface, copper pour：https://github.com/Duxah/FreePCB-2?tab=readme-ov-file optimization, cross-window copy/paste, background image import and more.
