Ohmbo

Introduction

Ohmbo keeps the requirement, circuit, firmware, structure, engineer review and measured test in a single project, starting from a plain-language brief and ending with a manufactured, measured prototype board. Each project runs through ten stages: requirements, solution, circuit, layout, routing, firmware, structure, ECO, prototype and measured test, with an engineer performing DFM and electrical checks before fabrication and issuing a written report. The $149 Proto Kit covers a 2-layer FR-4 board (1.6 mm, up to 100 x 100 mm), single-sided assembly with up to 5 through-hole parts, and up to $10 of components per board; every board is power-on and rail-voltage tested plus functionally checked against a written test plan, and the schematic, layout, Gerbers, BOM and STEP files are delivered. The site states it is not a fit for mains power, medical, automotive or high-speed designs.
